Job Description
The Analytical Research & Development team is seeking a talented highly motivated candidate with experience in the characterization of peptide and oligonucleotide biomolecules. This is a laboratorybased role and the successful candidate will be responsible for designing developing and implementing analytical methods for the characterization of peptides and oligonucleotides with an emphasis on mass spectrometrybased methods. Candidate should possess an understanding of their core discipline and use that expertise to support early phase development of drug substance and drug product and collaborate across the global Analytical R&D organization and with crossfunctional partners such as PreClinical Safety (PCS) Process Chemistry Process Engineering Drug Product Development (DPD) Quality Assurance (QA) and CMCRegulatory.
Responsibilities:
- Utilize cuttingedge mass spectrometry techniques including highresolution MS MS/MS ion mobilityMS and 2DLCMS to characterize small molecule peptide and oligonucleotide drug products active pharmaceutical ingredients intermediates starting materials and impurities.
- Identify develop and implement novel analytical methods for the characterization of peptide and oligonucleotide pharmaceuticals with an emphasis on LCMS and biophysical characterization to drive discovery projects through the research and development pipeline.
- Be responsible for leading the structure elucidation aspects of a project while collaborating with crossfunctional project teams to advance programs through the development pipeline.
- Support new product development with advanced method development and validations technical transfer packages and generation of technical data in support regulatory requirements.
- Be highly autonomous and productive in performing laboratory research or method development requiring only minimal direction from or interaction with supervisor.
- Formulate conclusions and design followon experiments based on multidisciplinary data.
- Initiate new areas of investigation that are scientifically meaningful reliable and can be incorporated directly into a research and development program.
- Communicate and collaborate with crossfunctional groups and departments.
- Routinely demonstrate scientific initiative and creativity in research or development activities and maintain a high level of productivity in the lab.
Qualifications :
- Bachelors Masters or Ph.D. in Chemistry Biochemistry or closely related field typically with minimum 10 (BS) 8 (MS) or 02 (Ph.D.) years related industry experience.
- Extensive experience in designing mass spectrometry experiments for the characterization of peptides proteins and/or oligonucleotides and a strong understanding of instrument theory and operation.
- Strong technical background in analytical chemistry excellent analytical problemsolving skills. Capable of independently developing and troubleshoot analytical methods.
- Practical knowledge of organic structure functional groups chemistry biochemistry and modern spectroscopic and biophysical characterization techniques.
- Experience or knowledge of peptide synthesis approaches a plus.
- Selfmotivated hardworking detailoriented individual able to work in a fastpaced team environment.
- Experience in the use of computerized data handling systems.
- Highquality written and oral communication skills and ability to interact effectively with interdisciplinary scientists and engineers.

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our shortterm incentive programs.
