The ideal candidate will possess advanced technical skills proactive risk management capabilities and the leadership qualities needed to mentor teams and ensure project excellence. This role requires a blend of strategic foresight and handson planning expertise to deliver projects on time within budget and to the highest quality standards.
Qualifications :
Required Education:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Mechanical Engineering Construction Management or a related field.
A Masters degree in Project Management or a related field is preferred.
Required Experience & Certificates:
Professional certifications in PMP are preferred.
A minimum of 8 years of experience in construction planning or project engineering roles with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
Demonstrated experience in both industrial and residential construction projects is advantageous.
Required Skills:
Mastery in project planning tools and scheduling software (Primavera P6).
Proficiency in creating accurate datadriven project timelines and resource forecasts.
Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret technical documentation effectively.
Ability to anticipate project challenges and implement effective mitigation strategies.
Proven skill in articulating technical details and facilitating team coordination.
Experience in leveraging advanced software and analytical methods for process improvements.
Demonstrated capacity to lead teams mentor junior staff and drive organizational success.
Tasks and Duties:
Collaborate with the Project Manager and key stakeholders to identify project deliverables.
Break down the project into manageable work packages and activities.
Develop a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) outlining the hierarchy of tasks.
Conduct a thorough analysis of interdependencies among activities within the project.
Establish logical relationships by setting predecessors and successors for each activity.
Work closely with project teams to estimate the duration required for each activity.
Use historical data expert judgment and industry best practices to ensure accurate time assessments.
Input project details into a project planning tool such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
Define starting times durations dependencies and other relevant details for each activity.
Collaborate with relevant teams to identify the types and quantities of resources required for each activity.
Allocate resources efficiently considering skill sets availability and project constraints.
Conduct a thorough review of resource allocations to identify conflicts or overallocations.
Implement resource leveling techniques to address conflicts and ensure optimal resource utilization.
Collaborate with the project team to gather costrelated information for each activity.
Use historical data industry benchmarks and expert judgment to develop accurate cost estimates for resources materials and other project expenses.
Consolidate individual activity cost estimates into an overall project budget.
Work closely with the finance department and project stakeholders to ensure alignment with financial constraints and organizational goals.
Implement a robust cost monitoring system to track actual expenditures against the budget.
Regularly review and analyze cost data to identify any variances and investigate the causes.
Collaborate with the Project Manager to implement cost control measures in response to budget variances.
Propose and apply corrective actions to ensure the project stays within the approved budget.
Utilize historical cost data and current project performance to forecast future costs.
Provide accurate and timely cost projections to support decisionmaking and risk management.
Develop and distribute regular cost reports to project stakeholders.
Present costrelated information in a clear and understandable format highlighting key metrics and trends.
Integrate cost data with the project schedule to create a comprehensive view of project performance.
Identify potential cost impacts of schedule changes and assess the overall project health.
Finalize the project plan by establishing a baseline that includes agreedupon schedules resource allocations and project milestones.
Share the baseline with the project team and stakeholders for approval.
Regularly monitor project progress against the baseline plan.
Collect and analyze data on actual versus planned performance.
Update the project plan as needed considering any changes in scope schedule or resource availability.
Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on the projects status highlighting key milestones potential risks and mitigation strategies.
Facilitate communication among team members to ensure everyone is informed and aligned.
Implement Earned Value Analysis to measure project performance in terms of earned value planned value and actual cost.
Use EVA metrics to assess project efficiency schedule adherence and cost performance.
Identify opportunities for cost optimization and efficiency improvements.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to implement costsaving measures without compromising project quality.
Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with the project.
Develop risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
Maintain accurate and uptodate project documentation including plans schedules and reports.
Establish a document control system to manage versioning and access.
Facilitate the smooth closure of the project by ensuring all activities are completed.
Conduct a thorough project review to capture lessons learned and opportunities for improvement.
