Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer - RHEL

Peraton is seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Systems Engineer in our Chantilly VA office in support of our Department of Defense (DoD) Community customer as part of a highly talented highly motivated and highperforming part of the systems engineering team you will support an exciting program which involves design development test and deployment of an exciting and complex system in an Agile construct to contribute to mission success for a variety of stakeholders. What youll do:

• Work closely with DoD customer and stakeholders throughout system lifecycle in development integration & test deployment and operations of a highly sophisticated ground system architecture.
• Help build missioncritical highly available highperformance networked systems in a teamoriented environment. Build and deploy cloud instances and applications utilizing automation tools to streamline processes and improve efficiency
• Develop deployment and maintenance Ansible playbooks for the purpose of automating rapid installation and system patching within multiple largescale environments
• Develop systems engineeringrelated documentation to include operational concept requirements specifications interface control documents and validation & verification plans.
• Conduct system planning and design for expansion of these resources to meet program needs.
• Support ground system related trade studies.

Required qualifications:

• Associates degree and 10 years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; OR bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field and 8 years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field; or a masters degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field and 6 years of experience in a Systems Engineering related field. Additional Four (4) years of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a bachelors degree
• This position requires the candidate possess a minimum of TopSecret clearance with the ability to obtain TS/SCI. The candidate must maintain the clearance.
• Possess certifications training and/or experience in compliance with DoD 8140 for position held. OR be working toward certification.
• Direct experience with Linux and Windowsbased operating systems
• Experience installing configuring and deploying services from scratch to include configuration of security certificate and authentication settings
• Ability to use scripting languages such as Bash Python or Ansible for task automation such as package installation and configuration across an array of physical and/or virtual hosts
• Direct experience with Ansible for system configuration to include building and editing playbooks
• Experience with host/application integration into an Identity and Access Management (IDAM) system such as Active Directory FreeIPA or similar system
• Operating System administration skills for RHEL 7.x and above to include building systems up from bare metal performing software package installation and update operating system and application troubleshooting
• Experience in security hardening to include patching for vulnerabilities configuration changes working with SELinux and troubleshooting while leveraging automation tools.
• Demonstrated experience in creating virtual machine templates. Handson experience in virtualization technologies such as OpenStack Azure Citrix XenServer Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization and/or VMWare highly preferred.

Desired Qualifications:

• Experience with multiple Red Hat tools to include Red Hat OpenStack OpenShift and Satellite
• Experience working with container technologies to include Docker Podman or Kubernetes tools
• Experience implementing and leveraging system monitoring tools to include log aggregation (Splunk) and data gathering (Nagios Sensu etc.)
• You have experience in designing developing and integrating a complete satellite ground system to include infrastructure processing frameworks and software components.
• You have familiarity with any or all of the following preferably in a satellite ground system context: Objectoriented development practices and processes open architecture systems distributed computing technologies web services SOA networking technologies requirements management tools scripting automated test tools modeling and simulation and/or security certification and accreditation processes.
• You can express yourself confidently concisely and accurately through written and oral communications.
• You have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with management the customer and tenants across DoD.
• You are detail/ process oriented can multitask and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
