Join our team at Wasatch Behavioral Health and become a parttime Autism Aid at our exciting Giant Steps Preschool Program in Perovo Utah. As an Autism Aid you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of children with autism by providing essential support and assistance in their development and learning journey. This role offers a unique and rewarding experience where you can be a part of a dedicated team that is committed to creating a positive and inclusive environment for children with autism.

We offer a competitive wage of $17.07$21.63 with annual wage increases given.

Whats your day like

As a new Autism Aid at Wasatch Behavioral Healths Giant Steps Preschool Program you can expect to work closely with children with autism providing support and assistance with daily activities and learning tasks. Your role will involve implementing individualized learning plans assisting with social interactions and helping to create a safe and engaging environment for the children. The schedule for this position is Tuesday through Friday from 9:00 am to 3:30 pm allowing you to make a meaningful impact during the core hours of the preschool program. This handson role will give you valuable experience working with children with autism and the opportunity to contribute to their growth and development in a supportive and dynamic setting.

Does this sound like you

To excel as an Autism Aid at Wasatch Behavioral Health candidates should possess strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage with children with autism. Patience empathy and a compassionate demeanor are essential for building positive relationships and providing support to individuals with diverse needs. Experience in working with children or individuals with special needs is beneficial as well as the ability to follow instructions and adapt to changing circumstances in a fastpaced environment. Additionally basic knowledge of educational tools and resources used in supporting individuals with autism is preferred. Being a team player having a positive attitude and a willingness to learn and grow in this role are key attributes for success.

Employment at Wasatch Behavioral Health is contingent upon successful completion of a drug screen motor vehicle record review and criminal background check. After hire you must complete and receive a Criminal Background Clearance (BCI) from Utah State Office of Licensing. Upon receipt of a conditional offer of employment in the position you must provide an official copy of licensure or certification.
