PURPOSE
This position supportsIndividual Education Programs for students identified as having a disability defined by IDEA and the Missouri State Plan for Special Education and 504 plans. The PT is part of an interprofessional collaboration model with teachers special services teachers paraprofessionals and other school specialists that contribute to students benefiting from specially designed instruction. The PT assists students to access school environments and participate in educationally relevant tasks within school routines.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS
Reports To: Coordinator of OT/PT
Supervises: PTA as needed
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum: Bachelors degree from an Accredited Physical Therapy Program;Current Missouri Physical Therapist license by the Missouri Board of Healing Arts; Experience working with children who have a variety of special education diagnoses medical diagnoses conditions and/or disabilities.
Preferred: Advanced training in schoolbased practice.

ADA REQUIREMENTS
Language:Read analyze and interpret professional journals Board policy administrative procedures and forms and governmental regulations and guidance; Complete forms write reports and engage in written correspondence with parents; Present information effectively and respond to questions.
Computation:Work with mathematical concepts to analyze data; Apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations.
Reasoning:Solve a variety of problems in many different situations; Interpret instructions presented in written oral diagram or schedule form; Apply knowledge of current therapeutic theory and techniques while working with students; Demonstrate executive functions such as planning organizing remembering and regulating information and behavior as they pertain to student performance and achievement.
Other Skills and Abilities:Identify needs and abilities of individual students and to adapt methods accordingly; Establish and maintain effective relationships with students peers and parents; Perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
Technology:Perform basic computer functions such as word processing and internet use
Physical Demands:An individual who holds this position is frequently required to walk stand stoop bend and kneel; Is regularly required to talk and hear; daily personal and close contact with children is required; the selected applicant will regularly assist students with bodily movement; Must frequently lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; Will regularly push pull reach for and carry objects; Must demonstrate significant finger dexterity; Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision peripheral vision depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Attendance:Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this position; The positionrequires travel among multiple buildings during the school day so a personal vehicle is required.
