SUMMARY

West Valley High School is seeking a highly qualified collaborative candidate to join the CTE program and teach Engineering & Manufacturing. Candidates who can establish a positive rapport with students from diverse backgrounds make learning relevant through innovative curriculum design and coach students toward their individual goals will have the most success in this position. This position will work collaboratively with the existing Engineering teacher to develop a robust Engineering and Manufacturing program. The successful candidate must complete the applicable Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Training related to the courses outlined below. Training registration and up to 40 hours of pay per course will be covered by the school district.

ORDemonstrate eligibility to obtain CTE Conditional certification by meeting all requirements for those using the business and industry route to an initial certificate listed in WAC. Required documentation includes:

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Salary and work yearare determined by thenegotiated agreement and the needs of the District.

Verification of identity and United States work authorizationmust becompleted before employment commences. The successful candidate for thispositionmust complete a fingerprinted background check with the Washington State Patrol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Employment is contingent upon clearance of the background check.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

HEALTHCARE BENEFITS Employees who meet the eligibility criteria outlined in Chapter 18231WAChave access to medical dental vision supplemental life and supplemental disability insurance through the School Employee Benefit Board (SEBB).

RETIREMENT All regular nonsubstitute employeesare enrolledin a state retirement plan through the Washington State Department of Retirement Systems (DRS).

SICK LEAVE All regular nonsubstitute employees receive 12 sick leave days (proratedbased on FTE) and paid time off. Substitute employees receive sick leave perRCW49.46.210.

PAID TIME OFF All regular nonsubstitute employees receive paid time off including annual and/or vacation leave. Paid time off varies bypositionand work year. Refer to the applicableCollective Bargaining Agreement or salary schedulefor details.

OTHER BENEFITS
