Description
The Position
We seek an enthusiastic and experienced high school chemistry and biology teacher. The ideal candidate will possess deep subject matter expertise in chemistry and biology have taught at the high school and/or university level and have experience working with gifted learners. In addition they will have interest and experience with innovative researchbased pedagogy labbased and handson coursework and differentiated instruction. Candidates should also have the expertise and desire to teach or potentially develop additional elective courses based on their own interests and experience or schools needs. As a relatively new upper school division we seek dedicated educators who have an interest in collaborating with our current faculty as partners in the ongoing review design and implementation of our curricular program and science offerings.

General Responsibilities for Teachers
- Develop and teach courses expertly with the highest standards for each student
- Convey enthusiasm for intellectual inquiry and model lifelong learning
- Design instruction that emphasizes critical thinking and realworld problem solving
- Collaborate with colleagues in the development and execution of curriculum
- Create handson inquiry and projectbased learning experiences
- Collaborate effectively with students parents teachers and administrators
- Model flexibility in implementing best learning practices
- Support the wellbeing of all students
- Demonstrate interest and ability to serve as an advisor to students lead student activities serve as a club advisor and contribute beyond the classroom to support school programs and activities
- Demonstrated commitment to equity diversity and inclusion of people and programs
- Participate actively in other aspects of the student experience and school functioning: chaperoning trips and events serving on committees and developing new programs at the school
- Genuine interest and excitement to work with students and a desire to support their learning explorations and aspirations

Position Qualifications
- Demonstrated mastery in the area of study as well as an ability and desire to teach within and across academic disciplines collaboratively
- Bachelors degree required advanced university degree in Chemistry or related field preferred
- Minimum of three years successful teaching experience at high school and/or university level
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and experience teaching the craft of writing and research within the discipline
- Flexibility and creativity in working in a dynamic environment where new ideas mistakes and iteration are embraced
- A profound openness to feedback and improvement modeling lifelong learning of practice as well as subject area.
Compensation and Benefits
The fulltime equivalent salary range for this position is $79200 $145900. The starting salary is based upon but not limited to several factors that include type and years of experience education level and expertise.
