What you will do
Under minimal supervision design develop modify and verify mechanical components for medical devices.
Under minimal supervision work with R&D Quality Manufacturing Regulatory Clinical Marketing and Project Management to ensure project success.
Translate design inputs to engineering specifications and produce subsystem level designs.
Apply fundamental and some advanced concepts practices and procedures for problem solving. Develop and analyze solutions prototyping one or more options to provide proof of concept.
Demonstrate proficiency with the products intended use and clinical procedures. Demonstrate advanced understanding of customer needs and design inputs.
Follow fundamental industry standards design requirements and test strategies that apply to regulatory requirements.
Independently create or refine engineering documentation such as the Design History file
Follow R&D procedure like design controls and risk management per the Quality Management System.
Work on complex problems applying advanced experience and learnings while demonstrating ownership and prioritization of work with minimal supervision.
What you need
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering Mechanical Engineering BioMedical or related discipline.
2 years of work experience in mechanical design engineering.
Working knowledge and understanding of mechanical engineering practices and design principles.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a medical device industry/regulated industry will be preferred.
Knowledge of design and concept generation CAD or CAE modeling tools (Creo preferred)
Knowledge of analysis tools (i.e. DFMECA Fault Tree Analysis FEA Stackups etc.) and statistical methods (i.e. leveraging Minitab for ANOVA normality testing confidence calculations etc.).
Technical ability to create engineering drawings and models applying GD&T and CAE tools.
Demonstrated ability to apply knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes to product design.
