Overview:

  • A dynamic Technical Business Analyst position is available a 12month fixedterm position.

  • Based at the Melbourne CBD campus (Hybrid role) and Flexible Working Arrangements

  • Exciting opportunity for a motivated Analyst interested in using technical knowledge to build solutions/applications that solve business problems.

About the Portfolio

The Operations Portfolio enables an integrated enterprisewide delivery for best practice student and staff experiences.

The Portfolio incorporates the following business units: Enterprise Projects and Business Performance (EPBP) Communications People Information and Technology Services (ITS) Office of the Chief Operating Officer Procurement and Vietnam Operations.

The Portfolio houses significant drivers and delivery components across the staff and student journeys and enables the overall experience for both groups. The Portfolio is integral in bringing the RMIT strategy to life across the globe. Each of these functions supports the global operations of the University both directly as well as through its controlled entities.

The Information Technology Services (ITS) function provides RMIT University with current and emerging Technology systems and services. Our vision of unleashing technologies to enable great experiences for RMIT communities supports a proactive and leadingedge technology ecosystem mindset and delivery empowering the advancement of the Universitys commitment to advancing Lifelong Learners.

The Role

The Technical Business Analyst will work closely with the business and technical stakeholders in defining scope and requirements identifying business processes and designing functional aspects of solutions in alignment with business needs. Taking on a proactive role in helping shape a project from inception through to completion the Business Analyst will work closely with architects developers and testers to ensure that the delivered solution meets business needs.

The incumbent will become an expert in the business/technical domain in which they operate and provide consultative advice to stakeholders as required. The Business Analyst will support Project Manager(s) in the completion of their project tasks and deliverables that relate to business analysis e.g. analysis planning and estimates. Business Analyst will also be a key contributor to the BA Practice and play an active role in sharing knowledge and skills with other Business Analysts.

Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management requirements gathering and analysis business process development and use case development.

  • Strong knowledge of the SDLC and involvement across the entire project lifecycle

  • Experience in Artificial Intelligence in understanding business requirements and rolling out AI capability to the Business

  • Experience in infrastructure to understand and map the AV designs and update the standards.

  • Identify and manage stakeholders understand stakeholder interests and ensure that impacted stakeholders have a common understanding of new features or changes introduced by the solution.

  • Work with the Project team to analyse the initial set of Requests and prioritize for development/roll out of AI Requests.

  • Define and document the Tiers/Standards for AV refresh to enhance student and staff experience across all spaces of the University.
