What We Need: We are seeking an experienced and passionate Camera Operator with a minimum of 35 years in the industry to join our dynamic team. This role is perfect for a creative professional who thrives in both production and postproduction environments and is committed to creating compelling highquality content that resonates with audiences. Youll be working with The West Australian Newspapers awardwinning digital production team of producers reporters and editors on daily and long form content for our various digital and social channels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate cameras and select appropriate accessories based on production requirements.
- Make informed lighting choices and contribute to overall set design.
- Set up and manage onlocation and studio audio recording.
- Assist with postproduction workflow when required.
- Collaborate closely with directors producers and crew to meet production goals efficiently.
- Troubleshoot technical issues related to both video and audio equipment.
What You Bring:
- Minimum of 35 years experience operating cameras in professional settings.
- Strong understanding of camera systems lighting set design audio recording techniques and postproduction workflows.
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
- Detailoriented proactive and able to adapt to shifting production needs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Sony FX series cameras.
- Proficiency with editing software (e.g. Adobe Premiere Pro) and motion graphics tools (e.g. After Effects).
- Familiarity with content production specifically for social media and YouTube.
- Familiarity with video podcast production tools and processes.
- Comfortable working in fastpaced environments with tight deadlines.
