Minimum Hiring Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree and three years of related experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

The Office of Equity & Civil Rights Compliance (ECRC) supports Georgia State Universitys commitment to excellence by ensuring compliance with federal state and local civil rights laws and regulations prohibiting discrimination harassment and retaliation for engaging in protected activity as well as the Universitys federal affirmative action and equal employment opportunity requirements.

The Equity & Civil Rights Compliance (ECRC) office at Georgia State University is seeking two Assistant Directors for its Investigations unit. The Investigations unit is responsible for handling allegations of discrimination harassment and retaliation based on protected categories including but not limited to Title IX and other forms of sexual misconduct or harassment. The unit also provides training and guidance on University and University System of Georgia policies and best practices.

HERE IS WHAT YOU WILL DO:

    • Conduct Investigations (65%): Under the supervision of the Director of Investigations you will conduct prompt thorough objective and confidential investigations into complaints of discrimination harassment and retaliation made by students employees and third parties. This includes but is not limited to complaints under Title IX Title VI Title VII and other relevant laws. You will prepare detailed and timely reports of findings and conclusions for internal use and research and draft responses to inquiries or charges from state or federal agencies and other third parties.
    • Case Management and Reporting (20%): Assist the Director of Investigations in managing the daytoday operations of the Investigations unit. This includes reviewing incident reports correspondence and case tracking as well as administering weekly and monthly reporting.
    • Training and Guidance (10%): Assist in providing guidance and training to the campus community regarding issues of sexual misconduct discrimination harassment retaliation and relevant University and University System of Georgia policies. This also includes educating stakeholders about the complaint review and resolution process.
    • Other Duties (5%): Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Additional Information:

    • Hybrid Position: Onsite presence at the Downtown Atlanta campus is required 23 days per week.
    • Writing Sample: Candidates invited to interview will be asked to submit a writing sample.
