Job Description

Position OverviewOrange Southwest School District is seeking a dynamic equitydriven instructional leader to serve as the Director of Curriculum and Student Achievement. This role is essential to ensuring that all students across the district have equitable access to highquality engaging learning experiences that prepare them for college career and Director will lead a team focused on curriculum development instructional coaching assessment systems and student performance. This position integrates academic leadership with strategic equity work datainformed decisionmaking fiscal oversight and collaboration across schools programs and community partners.Key Areas of Responsibility1. Curriculum Oversight & Instructional LeadershipLead the development alignment and implementation of a rigorous culturally responsive PreK12 curriculum reflects the Portrait of a Graduate Universal Design for Learning (UDL) and personalized learning pathways (Act 77).Coordinate with school leaders to align curriculum with Vermont state standards and local priorities.2. Student Achievement & Performance MetricsDevelop and manage systems to monitor and improve student outcomes across all districtwide data and partner with school leaders to identify trends address disparities and support continuous regular updates and presentations on student performance to the school board and community.3. Professional Learning & Instructional CoachingDesign and implement districtwide professional development aligned with instructional goals and equity teacher leadership and collaborative learning through PLCs coaching cycles and mentoring instructional coaching efforts across schools to improve classroom practice and student engagement.4. Assessment Systems & Data UseOversee the districts local comprehensive assessment plan ensuring alignment with instructional goals and compliance with state and federal the districts comprehensive needs assessment process leading to the development of a continuous improvement plan that is reviewed and adopted by the school the strategic use of data platforms (e.g. SIS LMS assessment systems) to inform instruction and leadership for the administration and analysis of assessments including training and vendor coordination.5. Grant Management Budgeting & Fiscal OversightIdentify write and manage grants to support instructional equity and innovation priorities including federal (e.g. Title I Title II Title III Title IV Perkins) state and private funding programmatic and fiscal implementation of grantfunded initiatives ensuring compliance and timely and manage budgets aligned with curriculum assessment and professional learning expenditures to ensure effective use of resources and alignment with district with the Business Office to integrate financial planning into strategic initiatives and resource allocation.6. Equity and Inclusion LeadershipChampion districtwide equity initiatives using data and stakeholder feedback to identify and address opportunity culturally sustaining practices and inclusive learning environments that reflect the diversity of the OSSD community.7. Additional ResponsibilitiesAct as a strategic partner and district liaison with the Agency of Human Services (AHS) collaborating with lead coordinators to support the effective implementation of PreK and After School key personnel including the Data and Systems Specialist and District Instructional Coaches
