CRESA is seeking an IT Support Technician for an entry level position providing skilled information technology support for CRESA and user agencies. This position is onsite and working a swing shift starting at 1pm PST Monday Friday. Work is performed as part of the IT support team to maintain implement upgrade and troubleshoot the Agencys public safety technology. This position is integral to keeping public safety technology systems up to date efficient and operational with a focus on routine updates minor troubleshooting and addressing daytoday technology issues during swing shift hours. The IT Support Technician will also contribute to team projects involving new and upgraded technology and share rotating oncall duties to ensure 24/7/365 technical support availability.
Essential Job Functions: Must be able to perform the following essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Respond to Help Desk tickets and provide firstlevel support to end users for hardware software and network issues.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to desktops laptops printers and other peripheral devices.
- Provide routine system updates software patches and troubleshooting for hardware and software systems including Mobile Data Computer (MDC) systems and other public safety technologies.
- Support and assist users with basic technical issues inquiries and troubleshooting escalating more complex problems as needed.
- Provide IT support and assistance for desktop server and application systems (Windows 10/11 Windows Server VMware Active Directory Office 365 etc.).
- Ensure effective communication with both technical and nontechnical staff.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain and improve IT infrastructure.
- Perform oncall duties (rotating schedule) to ensure 24/7/365 technical support availability.
- Assist with light administrative duties and other ITrelated tasks as needed to ensure systems remain operational and up to date.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues CRESA employees public safety agencies and vendors.
Qualifications: Any combination of qualifications demonstrated by a candidates knowledge skills and abilities will be considered.
- High School diploma or equivalent; associates degree in computer science or related field preferred.
- Basic understanding of computer hardware software and networking concepts.
- Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Linux) and common software applications (Office 365 etc.)
- Skill in responding to and resolving enduser requests inquiries and/or questions effectively and timely.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Working familiarity with public safety priorities objectives and criticality is highly desirable.
- Proven critical thinking skills independent judgment initiative and time and project management skills.
- Ability to pass all required job selection and training processes including a background investigation and preemployment reference; and probationary period.
