Dallas Regional Medical Center is a 202bed acute care hospital accredited by The Joint Commission that offers a wide range of medical services including 24/7 emergency care cardiology wound care surgical services cardiac catheterization and imaging. The hospital is the only Certified Stroke Center Accredited Chest Pain Center and Labor and Delivery Unit in the area. Know Your Rights: is responsible for the assessment and basic management of medical trauma and environmental emergencies under the supervision of the staff nurse and / or physician. Assists with patient care based on individual patient needs within the scope of practice; Assists in maintenance of a safe environment and performs under the direction and supervision of the ED Registered Nurse or Charge Nurse.

Paramedics have the critical thinking skills to manage patients. They bring their expertise from caring for patients in the field to the hospital environment. Paramedics have extensive training in EKG interpretation and perform the patient EKGs.

Qualifications

Education and Work Experience

  1. High School Diploma or GED required.
  2. Texas Department of State Health Services Paramedic certificate or a National Registry Paramedic Certification is required; Licensed Paramedic preferred.
  3. 2 years experience in acute hospital setting or in ambulance preferred.
  4. Current BLS and ACLS certification as established by the American Heart Association required
  5. Current PALS certification within 30 days as established by the American Heart Association required.
  6. Must be able to read write and communicate professionally and effectively with employees and managers. Must possess the ability to write simple correspondence or reports. Must possess the ability to effectively present information in oneonone and small group situations to other employees and/or managers.
  7. Must be knowledgeable of standard ED protocols operational procedures and safety policies.
