This position is for a front line support Manufacturing Engineer who will be addressing nonconformance issues and providing in person support to ensure the production line continues to move smoothly
Key job responsibilities *** Please note shift days and hours are nonnegotiable**** Wednesday Saturday 5:00PM 3:30AM
Write work instructions troubleshoot nonconformances and help execute critical satellite assembly build and test campaigns including handson work. Definition & implementation of Work Order and standard operating procedures Assist with developing manufacturing processes for automated quality SPC. Specify design and help procure various assembly equipment tools and systems to meet program development requirements AIT takt time & cost optimization planning Review designs for manufacturability and sign off for design release Must be willing to work off shifts and weekends as required.

A day in the life A Manufacturing Engineer in this role will be supporting the technician team by resolving any obstacles and working with responsible engineers to disposition nonconformances. This individual will work closely with engineering teams in specifying and building or procuring tools and line equipment for Kuiper hardware builds. The successful candidate has some basic experience in supporting production of space hardware through development QTP (qualification test procedures) and flight hardware ATP (acceptance test procedures).
Bachelors Degree in Engineering (Manufacturing/Mechanical/Aerospace/Industrial/Electrical) or related discipline or equivalent experience. 1 year experience with integrating testing and troubleshooting mechanical and electronic systems 1 year experience with Computer Aided Design tools such as Solidworks or NX/Unigraphics
Related experience from internships or college organizations Technical writing experience including work instructions standard operating procedures and/or test plans. Experienced with various automated manufacturing processes including assembly and test methods at component level subsystem and system level. Experienced with handling and tracking systems for continuous material flow to manufacturing lines. Familiar with QTP/ATP functional testing and/or environmental testing such as thermal acoustic or vibe. Experience supporting both Development and Production programs Formal training/certification in Operational Excellence Systems (Lean 5S Six Sigma etc.) a plus. Strong organizational analytical root cause analysis and problem solving skills. Excellent communication and leadership skills.
