POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for the delivery of comprehensive homebased services to children and families by using a strength based and culturally responsive approach to develop relationships with the child in the context of their family to promote childrens developmental progress.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with families to plan and implement two home visits per month with the child and their family.
- Plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities to maximize the childs growth and development and model those activities for family members.
- Complete developmental assessments of children.
- Assist families in understanding their childs development and to identify developmentally appropriate expectations. Support families in providing an appropriate environment and activities which support their childs education intellectual socialemotional motor and language abilities.
- Participate in team meetings related to the child or family.
- Connect families with outside resources as relevant.
- Offer families guidance on safety nutrition effective discipline and constructive play activities which can be woven into the familys typical daily routines.
- Maintain observations and anecdotal notes to document childs progress.
- Complete reports and assessments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Communicate with FFD Partners as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED FOR POSITION:
Experience and Skill Requirements: The following requirements and skills are considered essential:
2 years experience required.
Education/Skill Requirements:
- High School diploma or the equivalent in skills and experience is required. An Early Childhood Degree or CDA is preferred.
- Minimum requirement of a CDA or a commitment to obtain one within one year of hire.
- Must be able to pass background checks.
