What Were Looking For
As our new Assembly Technician 1 you will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the Operations Department. You will be responsible for the production of research instruments including circuit board assembly wiring harnesses enclosures and accessory kits and work with our 3D printers stencil printer and pick & place attention to detail will be critical in ensuring we provide the highest quality products to the scientific community. You will assist in quality control and shipping and receiving for Aurora Scientific.
Responsibilities
Build products and subassemblies (wire harnesses PC boards and cases etc adhering to BOMs drawings and diagrams using machine tools as required (i.e. microscope automated wire cutter voltmeter cable tester soldering iron) as specified for maximum quality
Perform Quality Control inspection or specialized testing of electronic components finished products microcircuits subassemblies and assemblies recording defects test results in production logs
Ensure all required quality records are included with finished goods
Inspect and prepare inbound and outbound shipments
Qualifications
High School Diploma
12 years experience assembling electromechanical instruments
QC experience in a manufacturing company would be an asset
Excellent manual dexterity for complex mechanical assembly
Basic soldering skills
Ability to solve problems onthego
Ability to read and interpret bill of materials (BOMs) drawings and circuit diagrams
Basic understanding of mechanics (dimensioning and tolerances)
Basic understanding of handling low power electronics
Basic metal/plastic machining (cutting drilling threading)
Computer literacy (MS Office email etc.)
Ability to lift up to 24kg (50 lbs)
