A Brief OverviewResponsible for engaging clinicians at all levels of the organization to: achieve product standardization introduce new products to the organization in a manner which achieves the highest possible balance between clinical efficacy and cost management and lead the effort of product standardization across the health system. To accomplish this the incumbent will need to work directly with the Service Lines System CNO groups Clinicians at all levels of the organization vendors and other professionals in Supply Chain Quality IT Finance and Legal Services to navigate these processes to achieve optimal outcomes. They will direct the appropriate information needed from their internal supply chain counterparts in analytics and contracting. They will ultimately be responsible to successfully hand off the decisions and information to the appropriate internal team members to implement throughout the entire Avera system.
What you will do
- Responsible for leading teams to a timely decision through the use of analytics clinical equivalents research trials (as appropriate) vendor presentations and any other relevant information needed to come to the product decision.
- Works directly with the contracting department and analytics department to complete a data profile from various sources (purchase order data spend analytics clinical outcomes data third party studies ETC) to create a profile that can be understood by diverse constituencies to make credible decisions on new products system standardization and utilization protocols.
- Ability to interact with clinicians to ascertain needs versus wants communicate to clinicians in a manner which represents the desire to provide top quality supplies and services with the lowest possible total cost.
- Understands the innerworkings of the Avera system activities and how they partner with clinicians to improve patient care.
- Provide clinical and strategic expertise that facilitates supply expense management while continuously improving all processes that support patient care education and research.
- Assist in identifying and targeting specific projects and opportunities for standardization or savings with the Service Lines CNO groups and Clinical groups.

Required Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- 46 years of relevant clinical experience.
- Experience working with product selection vendors contracts or physician preference items
Preferred Education License/Certification or Work Experience:
- Bachelors in Business Healthcare Administration or Public Health.
