Job Summary
The Radiation Therapist performs a variety of technical procedures associated with Radiation Therapy Treatment and Simulation of patients under the direct clinical supervision of the Radiation Oncologist and the Medical Physicist. Works effectively with the Radiation Oncology team to provide excellent customer service in a compassionate and supportive environment.

Essential Functions:
- The Radiation Therapist is responsible for administering therapeutic doses of ionizing radiation using advanced level linear accelerators in accordance with prescription and instruction of Radiation Oncologists adhering to acceptable departmental institutional governmental and professional standards.
- Responsible for aspects of patient scheduling assessment treatment plan review/QA record & verify software operation and proper billing and documentation.
- Performs basic simulation activities (linear accelerator and CT scanner) and assists with complex patient simulations focused on CT scanner.
- Assesses radiation treatment and simulation rooms to assure all equipment is operational and quality checks have been performed and are within acceptable tolerances.
- Performs quality assurance procedures and reports deficiencies to supervisor and/or Medical Physicist.
- Performs quality assurance warmup tests and shutdown procedures on treatment units and simulators; corrects minor faults and/or initiates corrective action in coordination with Medical Physicist.
Minimum Education Training and Experience Required:
- No minimum years of experience in medical practice hospital or clinic setting.
- Graduate of an AMA approved program in Radiation Therapy Technology
- Board Certified by ARRT or board eligible. As a condition of employment board eligible employees must pass the registry within 6 months of hire.
- Certification by the Maryland Board of Physicians as a Radiation Therapist.
- Current CPR Certification
- Certified/Licensed in Radiation Therapy

Pay is based on experience skills and education. If position is parttime salary will be prorated based on scheduled hours. The pay range may also vary within the stated range based on specialty if applicable. NonExempt positions may have shift differential and/or Overtime paid if applicable.
