Safety Director Job Description
SAFETY Director in its entirety to ensure that our fleet accomplishes our job safely with good drivers and meets DOT as well as our Insurance Requirements. Safety Director is responsible for overseeing the Safety Dept and that Western abides by DOT rules and maintains a Satisfactory rating. Safety is responsible for reviewing the applications informing management of the individuals background history driving record safety habits driving test and all the necessities to have a safe DOT legal driver for Western.
This person will handle all accidents from start to finish ensure all accidents and reported damage are entered into TMW system within 24 hrs. with informational emails sent out to insurance and key personnel. Accident lists will be maintained and a monthly summary report of all accidents and their status will be submitted to management Monthly.
Drug and alcohol program will be kept in compliance with DOT guidelines and tests will be performed within accordance of the law. Records of tests will be kept in compliance.
All work comp reports will be handled by Safety and turned over to HR in accordance with their rules and procedures.
Supervision of one recruiter and Safety Supervisor
Work to ensure we are in compliance with FMCSA
Manager will oversee:
HR/Management
Hours would start early 8am5pm in order to schedule in equipment for repairs and PM Maintenance and can consist of 10to12hour days (or until the problems for the day are resolved and the next day has been planned to the best of their ability) 1 hr lunch 5 days a week with an oncall status for issues/problems. Dress is mid formal business attire (no jeans tie shirt or dress). This person/position will also be a part of Westerns A Team and will be required to be involved in team meetings events projects and leadership of Western and that it is always #1 in customer service!
