Job Summary

It is an exciting time to be at HP as our services and solutions business are growing fast. The Print software organization has grown significantly and we need to evolve the way we work to keep up.

The Print software Platform Data Engineerng Expert will be responsible for designing developing and managing activities for the Print Data platform specifically around the Data lifecycle Data Requirements & Definition Data Quality Data Storage and Retention keeping in mind availability performance privacy security & cost. In addition the expert engineer will be responsible for supporting customer facing HP Product and solutions and their vast number of use cases. The engineering expert is responsible for all stages of design and development for complex products and platforms including solution design analysis coding testing and integration. Expert exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution and has ability to handle most unique situations. Designs and establishes secure and performant data architectures enhancements updates and programming changes for portions and subsystems of data product pipelines repositories models forstructured/unstructureddata and makes datadriven decision and collaborates with crossfunctional teams including Engineering Architects Product Managers to drive the data as a differentiator to Print/HP.
Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the design for Data focusing on scalability performance availability cost and Data Quality.
  • Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to build a scalable secure and reliable Print Data platform.
  • Works closely with stakeholders to understand needs and priorities.
  • Roadmap own data platform roadmap and manages the backlog through constant prioritization. Manage product management requirements coming from various business units and cross functional teams.
  • Translates stakeholder needs into product requirements and definitions.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to guide feature development and prioritization.
  • Translates user requirements into executable and workable feature items with the software engineering team.
  • Acts as an advocate for the stakeholders during specification and development stages.
  • Manage product lifecycle of functionalities on the Print Software data platform


Knowledge & Skills

  • Strong knowledge in DataBricks
  • Strong in PySpark and Python
  • Strong in SQL/MySQL Relational data modelling
  • Strong Notebooks environment experience (Jupyter DataBricks)
  • Fluent in complex distributed and massively parallel cloud systems (AWS GCP AZURE)
  • Strong software engineering background with OOPS concepts
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow Jenkins)
  • Basics of AWS/Azure technologies
  • Proficient in using Git & Tera Forms
  • Experience collecting requirements from Partners and choosing the right technologies to meet end to end data flow requirements that are required.
  • Data Engineering knowledge with ETL platforms understanding.
  • Understanding of Print Data Formats would be an added advantage
  • Strong technical knowledge of software platform systems including enterprise middleware firmware and embedded systems.
  • Adept at collecting and analyzing input from multiple sources (internal customers product managers engineering architecture and management).
  • Significant experience in software development systems engineering or software platfrom product management.
  • Ability to understand and deal well with rapid development cycles and remain flexible in the face of uncertainty.
  • Ability to not only communicate in software engineering specific jargon and nontechnical language but also translate between the two.

  • Decisions and actions typically impact multiple departments and may have downstream repercussions lasting multiple weeks.
  • Advises various internal partner and customer teams on the needs and requirements of target markets.
  • Works closely with architects and technology leads directly engaging with internal and external software development teams.

  • Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project
  • Leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution.


Education & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in relevant area or demonstrated competence. Typically 812 years of relevant software product management experience.
