Midwest multidisciplined engineering firm is looking to add a Transportation Drainage Department Manager to their Chicago team!
Responsibilities:
- Supervise/oversee employees and projects
- Monitor staffing needs and assist with hiring
- Develop new products and client offerings
- Assist marketing department with business development initiatives (prepare proposals prepare approach scope and fees and participate in proposal interviews)
- Put together project teams
- Monitor department and staff performance including client satisfaction project schedule and budget billings and QA/QC)
- Responsible for budget and workload planning
- Develop standards and quality controls
- Manage drainage components of engineering reports plans specifications and cost estimates using IDOT Standards
- Regular communication with clients/regulatory agencies
Requirements:
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering
- 6 years of experience
- Licensed PE
- Experience in report preparation (IDOT Hydraulic Reports and Phase 1 drainage studies)
- Roadway/infrastructure design experience using IDOT Tollway and County design criteria
- Occasional evening hours possible
- Experience obtaining permits (drainage design floodplain/floodway and wetland impacts)
- Experience with Microstation/Geopak HECRAS HECHMS StormCAD and HY8 capabilities with an understanding of IDOT work flow preferred
- Existing clients preferred
- Experience working with IDOT and county staff preferred
Salary is commensurate with experience.
