QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Familiarity with all custodial responsibilities.
  2. Familiar with electrical systems.
  3. Familiar with basic boiler operations.
  4. Capable of supervision and selfdirection.
  5. Able to conduct good public relations.
  6. Dependable and of good moral character.
  7. Must have successfully completed a written examination for Custodian II position (unless already in a Custodian II position).
  8. High School graduate or equivalent (GED).
  9. Must be physically able to bend stoop climb reach work in high places ability to move heavy items and lift up to fifty (50) pounds.
  10. For promotion to this position employee must have received better than unsatisfactory in the overall category on his/her most recent evaluation.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Responsible to the administrator in charge of the assigned building or his/her designee.
  2. In the absence of a Custodian I performs the same basic job responsibilities as a Custodian I.
  3. When assigned to a building having a Custodian I work closely with the Custodian I in performing the work plans formulated by the above administrator.
  4. Supervision and training of Custodian III on the same shift as directed by supervisor along with regularly assigned duties.
  5. Make recommendations felt necessary to improve quality and operation of building care to supervisor.
  6. Inform supervisor of needed supplies and equipment.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned by the Director for Facilities or designee.
  8. Conducts himself/herself in a professional manner commensurate with his/her position and project a good public image of the School District in dealing with the community and employee groups.
