Job Description

Hours: 40 hours per week;2080 hours per year

Benefits: BCBS Health and Dental Insurance

Flex Plan option

Holidays 8 per year

Vacation 10 days front loaded for the first year then you will earn a half day each year moving forward

Sick Leave 10 days front loaded for the first year year 2 and beyond you will earn 1 day per month moving foward

Must have a good driving record.
Must pass physical and drug test.
Must have or be able to obtain NE CDL and Bus Permit (Paid for by KPS).

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Education: Minimum of a High School diploma or equivalent.
  2. Must possess or be able to obtain a valid Nebraska CDL with School Bus and Passenger Endorsements.
  3. Must possess a good driving record and be of good moral character.
  4. Must be hard working and team oriented.

RESPONSIBILITIES: (Include but are not limited to)

  1. Drives routes and/or serves as a para as needed.
  2. Drives activity trips including some nights and weekends.
  3. Assists with shuttling vehicles to and from service departments as needed.
  4. Performs basic cleaning of buses primarily the interior and also assist with general upkeep of the shop area bus barn and office.
  5. Assists the Director with all facets of the department including support of other drivers and paras.
  6. Assists the Director Mechanic and other Operations Coordinators with all aspects of the transportation department.
  7. Assists with maintaining accurate vehicle records.
  8. Answers phone calls and questions from the public.
  9. Meets greets and answers questions of visitors to the office.
  10. Demonstrates the ability to establish and improve upon procedures and routines for the Transportation Department.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned by the Director.
