The Procurement Services Branch provides guidance and expertise to the enterprise on open and transparent procurement practices while working closely with all ministries to meet their purchasing needs provides procurement options that meet our public procurement obligations resulting in acquisition of highquality costeffective goods and services.
Procurement Services also provides services related to warehousing and surplus sales interprovincial trade vendor relationship management data analysis and reporting.

Within Procurement Services Corporate Purchasing is responsible for the procurement of goods and associated services valued over $10000 on behalf of all ministries as mandated in accordance with the Government Organization Act the Direct Purchase Regulation and the Direct Purchase Administrative Practices. This unit is responsible for approximately 300 mandated procurements annually in addition to establishing and maintaining approximately 200 governmentwide and ministry specific standing offers and blanket contracts. The majority of these contracts are also available for use by other Municipalities Academia Schools and Health (MASH) sector entities and many have outward faced public impact (e.g. Alberta Aids to Daily Living Program contracts for goods used by Albertans).

Your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Oversee the endtoend procurement process for goods and services including developing policies guidelines and technical specifications with a focus on services.
Review staff procurement documents (e.g. solicitation documents evaluation plans) to ensure compliance with internal policies applicable trade agreements and industry standards.
Lead mentor and develop a team of procurement professionals including allocating tasks providing guidance and supporting their professional growth fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
Advise on procurement processes and policies across the Ministry contributing to steering committees and setting the strategic direction for Procurement Services by building strong relationships with senior leaders.
Ensure the effective use of GoAdeveloped resources like templates and training while overseeing contract award and monitoring policies to enhance procurement effectiveness.
Identify and implement opportunities to streamline procurement processes increasing both efficiency and flexibility.
Establish clear responsibilities across all stakeholder levels to support effective decisionmaking.
Maintain the Procurement Services SharePoint Site and ensure accurate procurement records reports and documentation in alignment with the Procurement Accountability Framework (PAF) and GoA Policies.
Implement action plans for improvements based on recommendations from audits or the Auditor General.
Foster collaboration within project teams to achieve common goals.

Strong procurement background with a focus on servicerelated procurements including extensive experience in conducting solicitations and evaluations.

Proven decisionmaking project management and leadership capabilities.

University graduation in a related field to the position assignment supplemented by four years related experience. Related experience or education may be considered as an equivalency on a one for one basis.

High School Diploma and 8 years of directly related experience
One year related certificate and 7 years of directly related experience
Two year related diploma and 6 years of directly related experience
Masters degree and 2 years related experience
