Job Description

Providence Hall is a charter school located in Herriman UT. Central to the schools mission is teaching students to think critically communicate effectively and act responsibly. Students at the high school engage in classes that prepare them for college and career readiness through the AP scholars program concurrent enrollment and CTE.


Providence Hall High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated High School (9th12th) Girls Softball Head Coach to instruct athletes in the fundamental skills strategy and physical training necessary for the athletes to realize a degree of individual and team success while providing individual athletes with instruction that will lead to the formation of morals values pride of accomplishment acceptable social behavior and selfconfidence.


The high school Girls Softball head coach is a stipendbased position.


The stipend amount for the 2526 season is $4000$4600 depending on experience which is paid in full at the end of the season.


Practices games meets tournaments invitationals etc. are held after/before school and includes evenings travel and possible weekends and overnights.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Girls Softball program that aligns with the goals and objectives of Providence Hall High School.
  • Plan and facilitate regular team meetings and practices to support athletes in honing performances for the purpose of coaching athletes to their full potential.
  • Provide constructive feedback and guidance to athletes on their performances.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive team environment where all athletes feel valued and encouraged to reach their full potential such that theydevelop physically mentally socially and emotionally.
  • Uphold high standards of sportsmanship ethics and conduct among team members and follow UHSAA guidelines.
  • Work collaboratively effectively and positively with administration employees athletes parents/guardians and the community to promote the sports program and facilitate opportunities for athlete involvement and growth.
  • Manage the team materials for the purpose of making sure all items required for events are accounted for properly within due dates.
  • Adhere to all purchasing protocols and guidelines.
  • Attend and supervise students at assigned schoolsponsored events to include during travel ensuring proper student behavior in accordance with school policies and UHSAA rules and guidelines.
  • Take all necessary and reasonable precautions for the purpose of protecting and safeguarding athletes equipment materials and facilities.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Previous coaching experience in Girls Softball at the high school or collegiate level (preferred).
  • Experience mentoring and managing assistant coaches.
  • Understanding of the USHAA Handbook and Rules & Guidelines and willingness to uphold and enforce them along with the Providence Hall Athletic Department Student/Parent Handbook.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working with students parents and school staff.
  • Enthusiasm for mentoring and supporting the personal growth of studentathletes.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and plan organized practices.
  • Commitment to upholding the values of sportsmanship integrity and academic achievement.
  • Excellent levels of creativity and flexibility.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for coordinating schedules practices and meets.
  • Ability to develop and implement comprehensive training programs for athletes.
  • Knowledge of injury prevention athlete health and safety protocols.
  • Passion for developing studentathletes both on and off the field fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive environment for athletes of all skill levels.
  • Familiarity with injury prevention strategies
  • Strong motivational skills.
  • Capacity to perform all the responsibilities listed in this posting.
  • Must pass a comprehensive background check including criminal history and professional references as a condition of employment.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds traverse school facilities and assigned sport field/area and lead athletes to safety in the event of an emergency.
