Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and creative Art Teacher to lead engaging and inclusive art classes for adults with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD). The ideal candidate will foster a supportive environment that encourages selfexpression skillbuilding and personal growth through art.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and implement adaptive art lesson plans tailored to diverse abilities.
Provide individualized support to students ensuring accessibility and engagement.
Utilize various art mediums (painting drawing sculpture mixed media etc.).
Encourage selfexpression and creativity while promoting confidence and independence.
Collaborate with support staff to ensure a safe and enriching learning experience.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Organize art exhibitions or showcases to celebrate artist achievements.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Art Special Education or a related field (preferred).
Experience working with adults with IDD in an educational or therapeutic setting.
Strong understanding of adaptive teaching methods and inclusive practices.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Patience creativity and a passion for empowering individuals through art.
