Position Overview
We are seeking a Building Materials Lab Technologist to support the development and optimization of advanced composite materials for the building industry. This role is ideal for recent graduates or earlycareer professionals eager to work in a dynamic researchfocused environment and contribute directly to nextgeneration sustainable building products.
As a key member of our R&D team youll collaborate with experienced professionals gain handson lab experience and play an essential role in shaping the future of our materials technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct laboratory testing and analysis of composite materials used in building products.
- Implement and refine experimental methods to evaluate and optimize material performance.
- Prepare test samples operate and maintain lab equipment and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Accurately document procedures analyze data and present results in reports or presentations.
- Support the development of new materials processes and technical innovations.
- Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to drive product improvements and R&D goals.
- Prioritize safety in all experimental work and processes.
- Manage multiple tasks independently and meet project timelines.
Required Qualifications
- Diploma BSc or BASc in Civil Mechanical Chemical & Environmental Technology or a related discipline
- Experience with lab testing of materials such as wood plastics or cement is an asset
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with lab equipment and tools
- Strong skills in test setup execution and technical documentation
- Familiarity with testing methods to evaluate physical and chemical material properties
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform handson technical tasks
- High attention to detail with a commitment to quality and continuous improvement
- A positive attitude team spirit and a good sense of humor!
