Summary of Job Duties:
The Pharmacy Technician I PRN will assist the Technician I Technician II and Technician III as it relates to daytoday dispensing functions tasks and job duties to provide timely and efficient patient service. They will assist with prioritizing daytoday workflow and immediate needs. Under the direct supervision of the Pharmacist the Pharmacy Technician I PRN will assist and support the pharmacist in the daytoday dispensing operation of patient care. The dispensing operation includes gathering the appropriate medication researching data in the EPIC computer system compounding medications maintaining appropriate and adequate stock in all pharmacy areas and other duties related to dispensing medication to the patient. The PRN Pharmacy Technician I will prioritize work based on immediate need and rapidly changing workload. The PRN Pharmacy Technician will work as a team member to efficiently accurately perform daytoday work along with any additional tasks or projects to help achieve departmental goals.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
HS diploma or GED Pharmacy Technician License by the Arkansas State Board of Pharmacy
Preferred Qualifications:
Good/Strong Math Skills
1 year pharmacy technician experience relevant to hiring area (i.e. retail hospital etc.)
Additional Information:
Responsibilities:
Filling prescriptions selecting the right drug brand form strength and quantity and accurately counting and packaging the medication. May also prepare compounded medications IV fluids and other mixtures for patients.
Taking inventory ordering supplies checking goods received and reviewing pharmacy stock for expired drugs. May also oversee and manage compounding facilities to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
Adhere to pharmacy laws regulations and policies.
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain proper handling of controlled substances.
Other duties as assigned.
