As a Mechanical Engineering Intern at ThermoLift you will play an integral role in supporting the development and commercialization of our advanced thermal compression heat pump technology. In this role you will be responsible for developing innovative solutions creating detailed designs and transforming concepts into manufacturable parts. Working closely with our crossfunctional Engineering team youll gain handson experience in experimental testing system diagnostics data analysis and prototype development within a fastpaced R&D environment.
Responsibilities
  • Create detailed 2D and 3D models and drawings using SolidWorks software
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards safety regulations and company policies.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve product design performance and reliability
  • Participate in the design build and validation of custom fixtures test rigs and mechanical assemblies
  • Assist in the setup execution and documentation of component and systemlevel experiments on our thermal compression heat pump.
  • Support test cell operations including instrumentation setup sensor calibration and realtime system monitoring.
  • Learn and contribute to the analysis of system performance including temperature pressure and flow data.
  • Gain exposure to thermodynamics fluid mechanics heat transfer and environmentally sustainable HVAC design
Qualifications:
Mechanical Engineering Student with at least thirdyear standing
Proficient in SolidWorks software
Basic understanding of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) principles and their application in engineering drawings.
Knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes
Strong analytical observational documentation and communication skills.
Knowledge of engineering principles and completed coursework in thermodynamics heat transfer or fluid mechanics
Experience with hands on assembly and testing processes/equipment preferred
Expected work hours of at least 3040 hrs per week must be performed onsite in Novi Michigan
Expected period of work: 16 weeks Temporary Hourly Rate: $18.00
