Job Description

The Good Spirit School Division invites applications for Permanent Library Technician

Kamsack Comprehensive Institute

Library Technicians support and assist in the development organization and maintenance of the school library. Library Technicians are valuable members of a team which collaborate to promote student learning wellbeing and success.

Assignment and Term:

  • This position is a permanent parttime position of 6 hours a day in accordance with the Library Technician school calendar.
  • The position commences on August 22 2025. The work schedule will be scheduled by the Principal or designate. Rest periods will be scheduled in accordance with the current collective bargaining agreement.
The duties of a Library Technician are to:
  • Provide library services to students and staff.
  • Operate and maintain the computerbase library system to circulate library materials generate reports and complete inventory checks.
  • Catalogue all library resources
  • Organize maintain and update all materials in the library collection.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or designate and those listed in Job Description Library Technician
The successful candidate will have the desired qualifications:
  • Minimum Grade 12 Diploma or equivalent.
  • Acute attention to detail adaptability flexibility and the ability to work as a team member will be considered assets.
Salary and Benefits:
  • The successful candidate will be paid on a monthly basis at an hourly rate from $20.39 to $25.12 plus applicable vacation pay.
  • Benefits include participation in the Saskatchewan School Board Association (SSBA) Employee Benefits Plan the Municipal Employees Pension Plan (MEPP) and opportunities to attend professional development seminars.

Please note that GSSD may contact informal references not listed in your application not currently working for GSSD will be required to submit a recent (within the last six months) criminal record and vulnerable sector check acceptable to the Board of Education prior to offer of employment.
