Job Description
We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Bexley to assist with the appointment of a Building Surveyor on a 3month contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.
Rate of Pay: 450.00 per Day (Umbrella)
Summary:
This is a progressive role offering a structured career path from Trainee through to Senior Building Inspector based on qualifications competency and performance. The successful candidate will contribute to maintaining high standards of public safety and building compliance across the borough supporting development and regeneration priorities.
Responsibilities:
- Assess and examine building plans to ensure compliance with the Building Regulations.
- Conduct site inspections to monitor construction progress and compliance.
- Identify and report unsafe structures unauthorised works and ensure appropriate enforcement.
- Investigate dangerous structures and serve necessary statutory notices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders including developers homeowners and internal council departments.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of Level 3 qualification in construction or a related field (Assistant BI and above).
- Relevant professional qualification or working towards (RICS CABE CIOB).
Essential Criteria:
- Registration with the Building Safety Regulator (according to role/class level).
- A full UK driving licence and ability to travel throughout the borough.

- You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
