SUMMARY:
Responsible for conducting the in class Human Resource and Health and Safety theory components of the selector onboarding process including policy and procedural reviews and material handling equipment training. Incumbent will perform administrative functions relating to onboarding new selectors such as scheduling operational selector training ensuring employee paperwork for all components of the Human Resource onboarding are complete and entry in to SAP.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitate Day 1 Orientation training on all Human Resource policies and procedures including all safety related materials
Conduct MHE theory training as per CSA B335 standard for new selectors
Enter new hires into required Metro systems such as SAP where applicable
Organize and file all onboarding paperwork for Day 1 Theory and Day 2 practical training
Complete required profile access and machine authorization in iWarehouse for new selectors
Work in conjunction with operations on schedule adjustments for practical MHE training and selector training
Communicate between relevant parties regarding attendance and a successful pass of all MHE theory training both in online tracking spreadsheet and via email where applicable
Prepare in advance of training session all required documentation and materials
Observe and evaluate the behavioural/technical competencies of new hires and assess job fit throughout the duration of the training in alignment with Metros job requirements
Address new hire questions and concerns throughout the onboarding process as it relates to Metro and the role
Other duties as assigned to support the Health and Safety Distribution Program
QUALIFICATIONS:
Relevant education in Human Resource Management or Occupational Health and Safety preferred
Education or relevant experience in facilitation of training
Education or relevant experience in conducting Material Handling Equipment theory training preferred
Experience or knowledge in adult learning principles
Good oral and written communication skills including good interpersonal skills.
Experience working in SAP is an asset
Experience in a distribution centre environment and operation is an asset
Intermediate level knowledge of Microsoft suite programs
Ability to problemsolve and work independently with minimal or no supervision.
