The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for troubleshooting repairs and preventative maintenance of all equipment and facilities including but not limited to Wood and Fabric CNC machines (Gerber Lectra and Biesse) Conveyors Welding Equipment Lift Tables Sewing machines and Compressors.
What is this role responsible for
- Performs installation maintenance and repair activities on electrical mechanical pneumatic and hydraulic manufacturing equipment
- Adjusts machinery and repairs or replaces defective parts and components.
- Dismantles and reassembles machines and carries out routine maintenance activities
- Performs troubleshooting suing standard test equipment detailed drawings sketches specifications manuals or verbal instructions.
- Maintenance appropriate maintenance and repair logs
What is required for the role
- Read blueprints diagrams and schematic drawings to determine work procedures
- Install align dismantle and move stationary industrial machinery and mechanical equipment such as pumps fans tanks and conveyors according to layout plans using hand and power tools
- Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes and jacks to position machinery and parts during the installation setup and repair of machinery
- Inspect and examine machinery and equipment to detect and investigate irregularities and malfunctions
- Install troubleshoot and maintain power transmission vacuum hydraulic and pneumatic systems and programmable logic controls
- Adjust machinery and repair or replace defective parts and have the ability to read measuring tape feeler gauge calipers etc.
- Operate machine tools such as lathes and grinders to fabricate parts required during overhaul maintenance or set up of machinery
- Clean lubricate and perform other routine maintenance work on machinery
- Assemble machinery and equipment before installation using hand and power tools and welding equipment
- Maintain a daily checklist be a good communicator work in a team work with little supervision under pressure and multitask
- Abide by OSHA regulations and StudioTK policy and procedures about lockout/tagout completing work orders etc. Advise management of actions taken
- Licensed forklift scissor lift first aid and knowledge of Electrical Safety Code SDS requirements preferred
- Industrial mechanic diploma or comparable experience
- Computer skills (PM programs email excel and Google Suite)
