Job Description

Job Summary

The PGY2 residency program builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and PGY1 pharmacy residency training to develop pharmacist practitioners with knowledge skills and abilities as defined in the educational competency areas goals and objectives for advanced practice areas. Residents who successfully complete PGY2 residency programs are prepared for advanced patient care or other specialized positions and board certification in the advanced practice area if available.

Essential Functions

  • Provide safe and effective patient care services while promoting safe and effective access to medication therapy.
  • Provide patientcentered care through interaction and facilitating effective communication with patients caregivers and stakeholders.
  • Participate in the identification and implementation of medicationrelated interventions for a patient population (population health management). Conduct pracrice advancement projects.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills that contribute to departmental and/or organizational excellence in the advancement of pharmacy services.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills that foster personal growth and professional engagement.
  • Provide effective medication and practicerelated education.
  • Provide professional and practicerelated training to meet learners educational needs.
  • Complete all additional activities required and outlined by individual Pharmacy Residency Program

Qualifications

  • Required Bachelors Degree Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited College of Pharmacy. Completion of an ASHP accredited PGY1 residency.
  • Experience gained through completion of a PGY1 residency program. Required
  • LICClinical Pharmacist STATEMI State of Michigan 90 Days required
  • LICPharmacist Controlled Substance STATEMI State of Michigan 90 Days required
  • CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required Or
  • CRTBasic Life Support (BLS) ARC American Red Cross 180 Days required Or
  • CRTPediatric Adv Life Support (PALS) AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required Or
  • CRTAdv Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) AHA American Heart Association 180 Days required
