Are you a seasoned Surveyor looking to elevate your career in a vibrant and fulfilling setting Van Pile is hiring for an onsite flyin flyout role with a schedule of two weeks onsite followed by one week offsite. This fulltime position spans 12 months in Prince Rupert with accommodation and travel expenses fully covered.
Position: Surveyor
Site Location: Prince Rupert Flyin in Flyout
Responsibilities:
Perform surveying for marine and heavy civil construction projects.
Field survey pile locations and batter orientations using GPS and a total station.
Field survey structure locations and elevations using GPS and a total station.
Draft preconstruction layout and asbuilt drawings using AutoCAD.
Perform survey requirements for dredging projects.
Collect and process data using a SingleBeam Echo Sounder and a Global Positioning System (GPS) to collect reduce and present topographic and bathymetric data.
Draft pre and postdredging drawings using AutoCAD.
Prepare field equipment coordinate packing/shipping of field equipment/tools/supplies and travel to/from work sites.
Prepare reports and drawings.
Work independently and professionally in the field and office.
Complete projects on time and within budget.
Work successfully as an integral team member to achieve project goals.
Have a strong commitment to Health Safety and Environment.
Qualifications / Requirements:
The ideal candidate should know conventional and hydrographic surveying techniques and:
Demonstrated proficiency with survey principles and methodologies including Differential GPS and RealTime Kinematic GPS.
3 to 5 years experience in the construction industry.
Experience with singlebeam seismic sidescan magnetometer and underwater video survey systems is an asset.
Proficiency in using Trimble survey equipment. (S7 and TSC 5)
Ability to conduct surveys using reflectorless technology.
Familiarity with using vertical and horizontal adjustment buttons on the Trimble S7.
Proficient with HYPACK and AutoCAD (AutoCAD Civil 3D experience is considered an asset).
A valid drivers license and a clean driving record are necessary.
Proficiency in operating small boats is an asset.
