Position Overview
The Speech Therapist (ST) is a skilled clinician responsible for delivering quality care in patients homes. This role reports to the nursing supervisor and functions under the direction of the physician.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate clients speech language and hearing abilities
Conduct initial and ongoing comprehensive assessments including OASIS evaluations
Develop and revise treatment plans in consultation with physicians
Provide education to clients and families on therapy techniques and strategies
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team on care plans
Supervise Home Health Aides every 14 days when Speech Therapy is the only service provided
Document all evaluation data treatments and progress in a timely manner
Communicate with physicians to ensure proper orders and report changes in client condition
Participate in updating care plans and obtaining additional orders as needed
Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited Speech Therapy program
Licensed Speech Therapist in Florida
Minimum of two years of clinical experience preferred
Current BLS Certification
Valid drivers license and insured reliable vehicle
Strong physical stamina and emotional resilience
Excellent communication clinical judgment and observational skills
Selfmotivated and able to work independently
