Job Description

THE POSITION

Do you have a keen eye for detail and possess exceptional organizational and multitasking skills Cambria County Children and Youth Services is looking for a motivated Accountant 1 to complete our team. This is a great opportunity to gain experience working in the classification analysis and reporting of financial data. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this entrylevel fiscal position your work will focus on analyzing financial transactions preparing documented financial statements and reports accounting for funds and analyzing and projecting financial data. An Accountant 1 assists in preparing state and county budgets for Children and Youth and Juvenile Probation expenditures and revenues. In addition this position posts all placement invoices prepares and submits Federal IVE invoices and assists in preparing general ledger reports. You will have the opportunity to assist in preparing the fiscal forms for the agencys annual plan prepared for the Department of Public Welfare.

Additional duties to include but not limited to:

  • Assisting in preparing journal entries and budget modifications
  • Conducting an internal audit of petty cash funds
  • Analyzing reports from the Countys Eden Account System
  • Training Fiscal technicians


Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Fulltime employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with 30minute lunch.
  • Telework:You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary:In some cases the starting salary may be nonnegotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Technician and 15 college credits in accounting; or
  • Five years of bookkeeping experience; and 15 college credits in accounting; or
  • One year of professional accounting experience and graduation from a fouryear college or university including or supplemented by 15 credits in accounting.

Legal Requirements:

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination and a drug screening.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
    • Under the Law a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including but not limited to PA State Police clearance PA Child Abuse history clearance and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
