Pactiv Evergreen Raleigh manufactures and distributes gable top beverage cartons. The companys product portfolio includes a wide variety of beverage carton sizes styles and printing capabilities.

The facility operates 24 hours per day 7 days per week.

Candidates must be pursuing degree in Industrial Engineering Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or Manufacturing Engineering at NC State College Only.

Role Responsibilities:

• Perform research design and development evaluation and improvement of manufacturing processes and methods including production flow and production equipment.
• Analyze and plan work force utilization space requirements and workflow and design layout of equipment and workspaces for maximum efficiency.
• Evaluate current manufacturing systems to determine areas for improvement and recommend implementation schedules.
• Complete projects related to cost reduction/savings Continuous Improvement and Lean activities and Automation Implementation.
• Serve as participating member for teams during Kaizen events and follow up to assist supervisors to sustain work improvements.
• Design develop and test and/or source and costjustify various tools machinery and equipment for recommended manufacturing methods.
• Confer with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange for purchase of equipment materials or parts and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards.
• Apply statistical methods to estimate future manufacturing requirements and potential.
• Distribute product/part drawings to appropriate plant personnel.
• Assist in developing our equipment database in Maintenance Connect our CMMS software. This includes adding/updating documentation drawings BOMs etc.
• Assist in maximizing the efficient utilization of the parts room and make recommendations on improving processes and organization.

Qualifications:

• Understanding of Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques Quality Control and attention to detail.
• Strong problem analysis and problem resolution.
• Must be a wellorganized and selfdirected individual who is a team player.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Advanced Microsoft Suite knowledge preferred.
• 2D and/or 3D CAD knowledge strongly preferred.
