JOB OPENING

CITY OF FARMINGTON

JOB POSTING #33: PRO SHOP ATTENDANT CIVITAN GOLF COURSE

NUMBER OF VACANCIES: 2

DEPARTMENT: PRCA

WORK LOCATION: Civitan Golf Course

HIRING RANGE: $12.00/Hour

PAY CLASS: Seasonal

DAYS WORKED: Varied

HOURS WORKED: Varied

TYPE OF POSITION: Seasonal

JOB DUTIES

Resumes submitted without a City of Farmington application will not be considered in our job selection process

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Collects green fees sells golf supplies and concessions and starts players on the golf course.

Acquaints new golfers with course rules and regulations.

Using excellent customer service skills establishes and maintains effective working relationships with other employees officials and all members of the general public.

Patrols course property to direct pace of play and make sure golfers are practicing proper manners of play and observance of golf rules and etiquette.

Sells season passes and assists in keeping records of such.

Cleans pro shop and restrooms on a daily basis and as needed.

Enforces established policies rules and regulations of course.

Receives and responds to complaints from golfers.

Operates a motor vehicle to assist in carrying out the business of the department and the City.

Attendance at work is an essential function of this position.

NONESSENTIAL DUTIES

Relieve other personnel at the golf course when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS

This position is subject to the Citys Drug and AlcoholFree Workplace Program. This includes: preemployment testing postaccident testing reasonable suspicion testing returntoduty testing and followup testing.

Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record for the past three years or state of current residency.

Ability to work harmoniously with patrons and fellow employees.

Good oral and written communications skills.

Must be able to count change.

Ability to maintain records and files.

Working knowledge of the rules of golf.

Ability to learn and enforce course policies rules and regulations.

Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with coworkers supervisors other City personnel and the public.

Ability to follow verbal and or written instructions.

Ability to use equipment and tools properly and safely.

Extensive background checks required.

TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED

Golf cart cash register janitorial equipment including vacuums mops brooms dusting equipment.

The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and use hands to finger handle feel or operate objects tools or controls. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds individually. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision color vision peripheral vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and lightning.
