Reporting to the Team Lead of Training & Accreditation the eLearning Specialist will work with a team that includes subject matter experts media developers and staff to plan design develop implement and evaluate eLearning courses and supporting materials for internal and external stakeholders.
The eLearning courses created will provide the necessary training to the Registry Agent Network to better serve Albertans. In this role you will also develop training for Registries Online Subscribers and the General Public. This role will provide expertise with respect to establishing instructional design in an eLearning environment using adult learning theories creating storyboards and developing and implementing eLearning evaluations.
In this role you will be tasked with:
- Creating preliminary user interface and user experience designs documenting stakeholder requirements using visual and technical design strategies and identifying multimedia and graphical elements required to support learning content.
- Consulting with stakeholders and SMEs to develop content that meet course goals and address key learning objectives.
- Developing interactive eLearning courses using specialized eLearning Rapid Development software and manual coding in a variety of programming languages as required.
- Conducting research reviews to keep on top of emerging learning and development trends and information in order to recommend changes to current programming or to improve current programming based on emerging business needs.
- Developing and facilitating presentations to Ministry stakeholders and staff relating to eLearning capabilities tools and opportunities.
- Liaising with other GoA eLearning leads and external technical contacts in learning institutions and educational jurisdictions to provide information resolve problems and facilitate collaboration related to eLearning.
- Creating standards and documenting processes used as facilitation tools for similar deliverables in the future.
- Participating in the preparation of business cases post implementation reviews and the preparation of associated reports and recommendations.
- Functioning as SME in the area of adult learning and eLearning development to assist other team members as required.

Qualifications
Requirements:
- University graduation in Instructional Design Educational Technology or a related field such asInformation Systems Technology Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
- 2 years progressively responsible related experience in the development and delivery of learning in online courses/ program formats; or equivalent as described below.
- Technical skills such as Adobe eLearning Suite including Captivate and Articulate Storylines or equivalents.
- Experience with webinar platforms HTML JavaScript or Flash/ActionScript.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems or Learning Content Management Systems.
- Experience in the development and delivery of learning in online courses/program formats.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience.
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education.
The following are considered assets for this role:
- Experience with Adobe Illustrator or equivalent.
- Experience in the analysis design delivery implementation and evaluation of learning and development for adults.
- Experience managing complex and highprofile deliverables.

Please Note:
- There is one full time permanent position available.
- This position works Monday to Friday 8:15am to 4:30pm 36.25 hours a week.
