Job Description
The University of Nevada Reno is seeking a dedicated and detailoriented Library Technician 2 to join the Course Reserves and Document Delivery unit within the Access Services Department of University Libraries. This position reports directly to the Coordinator of Course Reserves and Document Delivery Services and plays a key role in supporting the librarys interlibrary loan and resourcesharing operations.
Position Responsibilities
Process a high volume of interlibrary loan (ILL) requests and billing transactions on a daily basis
Troubleshoot issues related to interlibrary loan systems and implement effective solutions
Train schedule and supervise student workers within the unit
Oversee maintenance and functionality of departmental scanning equipment
Generate monthly reports and usage statistics to support departmental planning
Manage inventory and ordering of departmental supplies
Maintain and update departmental procedures and documentation as needed
The ideal candidate will have strong organizational and problemsolving skills a commitment to customer service and the ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic academic library environment.
Required Qualifications
Graduation from high school or equivalent education and three (3) years of experience in a library or other cultural heritage institution including one year of technical level work performing duties such as copy cataloging acquisitions electronic resource management and/or organizing curating and accessing government publications; OR
One (1) year of experience as a Library Technician I in Nevada State service; OR
An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with the following experience are encouraged to apply:
Experience with Interlibrary Loan Lending (ILL)
Experience with ILLiad or Rapido software
Experience with Adobe Acrobat software
Supervisory experience with student employees
Billing experience
Experience with Microfilm/Microform machines
Schedule
The typical work schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm; this is subject to change based on organizational needs.
Compensation Grade
Grade 29 (Entry: Step 01 $24.02/hr. Step 10 $35.11/hr.)
In classified service salary is in Grade and Step. The Step is determined based on the Nevada Administrative Code. Salary placement above a Step 01 at initial appointment is determined based on the recruitment the candidates qualifications internal equity and budgets. A request to accelerate salary must be approved by Human Resources and abide by the Nevada Administrative Code.
