Job Description:
Aerojet Rocketdyne an L3Harris Technologies Company is seekingaSr. Specialist Materials and Process Engineer (Chemistry lab)to join our growing facility inCamden Arkansas. Senior professional managing complex processes with general oversight. Performs a variety of duties in the mechanical and chemistry areas of the Camden Materials and Process Engineering laboratory. Constructs troubleshoots calibrates adjusts tests diagnoses and maintains laboratory test instrumentation. Works from specifications operating manuals engineering drawings and written material test instructions. Works with complex test instrumentation and computer systems. Operates related test instrumentation conducts routine and complex quality conformance testing and reports test data in prescribed formats. Operates as a bench laboratory chemist conducting routine and nonroutine analyses.
Essential Functions:
- Handle process and mix chemicals in a laboratory setting.
- Work with lab instrumentation such as FTIR Instrons DSC Microtrac titrators & HPLC
- Sample and test raw materials propellants liners and explosive mixes.
- Prepare and collect raw test data.
- Perform complex mathematical calculations.
- Clean assemble and dismantle test hardware test equipment and test apparatus.
- Perform laboratory support activities such as instrument calibration cleaning inventory inspections and material handling.
- Generate laboratory test reports retain test data and disseminate test reports.
- Generate review modify and submit lab documentation.
Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant egnieering experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related engineering experience. In lieu of a degree minimum of 10 years of prior related engineering experience.
Preferred Additional Skills:
- Knowledge of testing explosives and energetic materials a plus.
- Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation.
- Knowledge of laboratory instrumentation troubleshooting
