Position Posting: Summer Program Activity Leader for Summer STEAM Program (Temporary/Seasonal)

Qualifications: Must be at least 16.

Compensation: $14.00 $16.00 per hour depending on experience

Employment: Start May 19th. Program dates are June 2 July 25

Approximately 5 hours per day (11:00 a.m. 4:00 p.m. shift)

Reports To: Summer Program Coordinator

JOB TITLE: Summer STEAM Program Activity Leader

Fremont Expanded Learning Programs

DESCRIPTION: Lead summer expanded learning opportunities and activities for students completing grades K4. Responsible for the supervision management and safety of children.

REQUIREMENTS:

  1. Education Level: High School Graduate preferred
  2. Certification/Licensure: None
  3. Experience Desired: Experience working with youth
  4. Other Requirements: Positive interpersonal and listening skills. Effective written and oral communication ability to work well with others and as a team. Ability to organize and manage time effectively. Ability to multitask and direct students. Ensure a positive experience and environment that promotes and enhances student learning skills and achievement.

REPORTS TO: Summer Program Coordinator

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Program: Works closely with Summer Program Coordinator Summer Teachers Community Partners and Volunteers in the development and implementation of engaging and enriching activities for an educational social and recreational summer program.



  1. Adheres to applicable district policies and regulations required by the grant.
  1. Responsible for developing and leading daily expanded learning opportunities.
  1. Monitors students and engages them in multiple program offerings.
  2. Serves as a mentor encourages youth achievement and promotes youth development.
  1. Implements and models positive discipline and behavior management.
  1. Attends required staff meetings training and professional development as assigned.
  2. Assures that program spaces are well maintained and left as found.
  1. Communicates well with others and has sound decision making skills versatility initiative high energy and strong human relation skills.
  1. Maintains communication with parents and families.
  1. Performs other related duties as required.
