This role is a permanent fulltime position working MondayFriday.
What you will do as a Loader Operator:
- Load and unload logs as directed ensuring production expectations are met.
- Remove logs from the kick out bin daily with the knuckleboom loader.
- Ensure painted and oversized logs are taken to the metal yard while others are placed back on the log deck.
- Perform daily cleanup duties around the metal log field and kick out bin.
- Fill in at the Scalehouse as needed handling various scale functions and log loading/unloading.
- Perform or assist with weekly preventative maintenance on machinery and complete daily check sheets.
- Adhere to all safety rules and procedures using personal protective equipment (PPE) and promoting safe work practices.
Experience and skills that will help you stand out:
- 35 years of manufacturing experience in an industrial environment operating heavyduty equipment.
- Ability to work safely and efficiently in a fastpaced production environment.
- Capable of sitting and/or standing for the entire shift (812 hours) and climbing in and out of machinery without assistance.
- Frequently able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Comfortable working in varying weather conditions with exposure to dust vibration and high noise levels.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A high degree of urgency and attention to detail.
- Desire to learn grow and succeed.
- Knowledge of the wood manufacturing industry and machine operator/maintenance experience are considered an asset.
