Tenure agreements within the province allow companies to explore for and develop PNG Geothermal and pore space resources.

The Crown Agreement Management Continuation and Compliance unit within the PNG Tenure Operations Branch is responsible for the administration of a number of business processes related to the development of Albertas PNG Geothermal and Pore space agreements. The unit also plays a key role in reviewing agreements for either licence validation or lease continuation applied for by Albertas Energy Sector which must meet all applicable legislative regulation policy or procedural requirements.

The Petroleum and Natural Gas Tenure Branch is looking for talented individual(s) to join our team as a Land Analyist 2 for our Continuation & Validation Unit and Continuation and Compliance Unit.

The position reports to the Unit Team Lead and holds the following responsibilities:

The Land Analyst must be detail oriented analytical collaborative and highly organized. The Land Analyst administers PNG and Geothermal agreements using the applicable legislation following department policy and procedures. They will provide analytical advice and expertise for the review and analysis of agreements processed by the unit. The Land Analyst will also process select financial transactions relating to such agreements.

This position is also responsible for making decisions that have a direct impact to the industry sector and their development of oil and gas in Alberta. The primary responsibility is to review analyze and respond to industry requests and process applications using their analytical skills and knowledge.

When initiating or recommending changes you will be required to interpret and apply various legislation and regulations. You must also have a comprehensive understanding of legal documents relating to land mineral rights and agreements. You will interpret and amend agreements and analyze and resolve agreement related queries brought forward by Albertas energy sector and other departmental staff.

    Equivalency: Directly related education or related experience considered based on one year of education for one year of experience; or one year of experience for one year of education.
