Job Description

Job Title: Dietitian
Facility: Mount Carmel East
Address: 6001 E Broad St Columbus OH 43213 United States
Contract: 13 weeks
Shift: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM (MF; Flexible hours; some weekend coverage required)
Pay Rate: $52/hr(W2) $55/hr(1099)
Guaranteed Hours: 40 hours per week

Job Summary:
Mount Carmel East is seeking an experienced and compassionate Registered Dietitian to provide evidencebased nutritional care in an acute care hospital setting. This role involves managing complex clinical nutrition needs across various departments including ICU medical and surgical units. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills flexibility and a commitment to patientcentered care.
Key Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
  • Conduct nutrition screenings assessments and reassessments in accordance with hospital and regulatory standards.
  • Perform nutritionfocused physical exams and develop nutrition diagnoses and care plans.
  • Provide individualized medical nutrition therapy (oral enteral and parenteral) based on patient condition and clinical best practices.
  • Document assessments and care plans using standardized Nutrition Care Process Terminology.
  • Deliver culturally competent agespecific nutritional support to patients and families.
  • Provide nutrition education and counseling to patients and their support systems as needed.
Education & Training:
  • Educate and support food service staff nursing staff medical professionals and dietetic interns on nutritionrelated topics.
  • Advise the Food and Nutrition Services (FANS) team regarding modified diets food allergies and patient care plans based on the Nutrition Care Manual.
  • Contribute to community outreach and nutrition education efforts in collaboration with FANS leadership.
Performance & Quality Improvement:
  • Complete all required reports and documentation accurately and promptly.
  • Participate in hospitalwide committees patient rounds and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Stay current with nutrition research and incorporate new findings into clinical practice.
Requirements:
  • Registered Dietitian (RD) with active credentialing.
  • Prior experience in an acute care hospital setting (ICU medical surgical).
  • Strong knowledge of medical nutrition therapy patient counseling and interdisciplinary collaboration.
  • Flexibility to work some weekends as needed.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
