Job Title: Estate Planning & Elder Law Associate Attorney
Location: Watchung NJ
Employment Type: FullTime Permanent

Position Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Associate Attorney with at least 3 years of handson experience in Estate Planning and Elder Law to become an integral part of our growing team. You will work closely with the Managing Partner and a talented group of attorneys and paralegals handling a range of matters from estate planning and Medicaid applications to litigation and guardianship. A clientfirst mindset and an interest in longterm professional development within the firm are essential. Attorneys with a portable book of business are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Draft Wills Trusts Powers of Attorney Health Care Directives and related documents

  • Advise on tax strategies Medicaid eligibility and asset protection plans

  • Administer estates and trusts including fiduciary accounting and court filings

  • Prepare and file Estate and Inheritance Tax Returns

  • Manage Medicaid spenddowns applications and represent clients in fair hearings

  • Advocate for elderly clients in various care settings

  • Handle litigation related to wills trusts and guardianship matters

  • Supervise paralegals on estate and elder law cases

  • Maintain accurate case files and billing using CLIO case management software

  • Represent the firm in CLE courses networking events and bar association activities

Qualifications:
  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Licensed to practice in New Jersey

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in estate planning and elder law

  • Strong legal drafting research and communication skills

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CLIO (or similar case management software)

  • Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities

  • Demonstrated empathy professionalism and commitment to client service
