The Level 1 MacOS Engineer supports the organizations Apple device ecosystem by managing securing and improving the MacOS environment. This role focuses on daytoday Mac administration automation of routine tasks and vulnerability management. The ideal candidate is detailoriented proactive and eager to grow their skills in a fastpaced IT operations environment. This position will require onsite attendance in the Richardson office weekly.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Administer and support all corporate MacOS and iOS devices ensuring consistent performance security and compliance with company policies.
- Manage Apple devices using Mosyle MDM including device enrollment configuration profiles app deployments and policy enforcement.
- Support and maintain software deployments system updates and patching processes across all endpoints.
- Work with Tenable RiskSense to track analyze and remediate MacOSrelated vulnerabilities in a timely manner.
- Create and maintain scripts (e.g. Bash Python) to automate common tasks and improve operational efficiency.
- Troubleshoot Applerelated technical issues and escalate complex problems to senior team members as needed.
- Collaborate with other IT teams to ensure alignment on security compliance and user experience.
- Assist in maintaining documentation for Apple systems automation scripts standard operating procedures and troubleshooting steps.
- Participate in onboarding/offboarding of users ensuring timely provisioning and deprovisioning of Apple devices.
- Stay current with MacOS updates Apple ecosystem changes and emerging tools to improve system reliability and user experience.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; relevant certifications (e.g. Apple Certified Support Professional) are a plus.
- 12 years of IT experience with a focus on MacOS administration preferred.
- Familiarity with Apple device management tools; Mosyle experience is a strong plus.
- Understanding of security best practices and basic principles of vulnerability management; Tenable RiskSense experience is a plus.
- Some scripting experience (e.g. Bash Python or similar) for automation tasks.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges in a teamoriented environment.
- Associate degree or equivalent experience;
- Required Knowledge:
- Understanding of network fundamentals DNS and WiFi connectivity as they relate to MacOS devices.
- Exposure to ITSM tools and ticketing systems.
- Knowledge of security principles and compliance frameworks (e.g. CIS benchmarks for MacOS basic familiarity with HIPAA or PCI is helpful).
- Experience supporting users in a mixed environment (Windows/macOS/Linux).
- Expertise in disaster recovery planning business continuity and risk management.
