Job Description

Position Title: First Article Inspector

Department: Quality Assurance

Location: Santa Ana CA

FLSA Status: Nonexempt Full Time


Job Summary:

Regal Technology Partners is seeking a detailoriented and highly motivated First Article Inspector to join our Quality team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring that initial production components and assemblies meet all customer engineering and regulatory requirements before fullscale production begins. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in precision inspection techniques and an indepth understanding of quality standards in a manufacturing environment.


Key Responsibilities:

Perform First Article Inspections (FAIs) in accordance with AS9102 standards and internal quality requirements.

Review and interpret engineering drawings specifications and work instructions to verify part compliance.

Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g. calipers micrometers height gauges CMM etc.) to inspect parts and components.

Document inspection results accurately using FAI forms and reports.

Collaborate with engineering production and quality assurance teams to resolve nonconformances and clarify inspection criteria.

Ensure all documentation is complete and compliant with customer and regulatory standards.

Support continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for process or quality enhancements.

Maintain organized records and inspection reports for audits and traceability.


Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or associate degree preferred.

Minimum of 24 years of experience in quality inspection or a similar role in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.

Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings GD&T and technical specifications.

Familiarity with AS9102 and industry inspection standards.

Strong computer skills including experience with quality software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Excellent attention to detail communication and problemsolving skills.

Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fastpaced environment.

Experience with CMM programming and operation.

Knowledge of ISO 9001/AS9100 standards and quality management systems.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for long periods.
